Sometimes this even means you have to stop looking up what is giving you pain. Stop creeping on people who hurt you, stop reading words of someone you can't have, delete your facebook or other profiles for a while. Don't torment someone with your presence, or torment yourself by keeping them in your life even if it's just a virtual life. Everything will heal gracefully. Something I was thinking about while I was working on my novel and talking with my sister about a friend of hers being sick. Sometimes you have to let go of what you've done that you thought was a mistake. Just learn from it and let it go.
The stop looking up what is giving you pain part got me. I'm going on a hiatus from the blogosphere for a while, and a large part of it is through removing myself from an area of my life that had a lot of pain, to say it in a basic sense. You know, I found your blog through NaNo, I think, and you're writing really is great. Whatever happend to your novel, I hope it's good. I'm still finishing mine, I'm in the "I hate everything I've written" stage, but I'll get there. So here's a glass to letting go.
ReplyDeleteI finished the 50,000 words and the book is almost complete. I'll have the first draft finished by the end of February and then it's on to edits. It's been hard to come back to it after taking a break from it after Nano. I miss feeling as connected to it as I did when I was working on it so intensely. I hope you start feeling better and safe in the blogosphere again. It's a safe space on my blog for you :)
DeleteGeez, i should take all these thoughts.and.advices into practice.... i must move on and let go... the.problem is i can't...
ReplyDeleteGood luck on thw.novel,.how.exciting! And thanks.for.your sweet comment.on my.blog, take care!
beautiful wise words....easier said then done sometimes. I over think things to death and drive myself crazy. Sometimes I can be too perceptive of people and misinterpret their actions....sometimes I just need to chill....haha :)
ReplyDeleteHope you are doing well,
Jana
"Sometimes it's better to react with no reaction."
ReplyDeleteThat could be my motto in life. And I like what you're saying, it's not always easy to do what you don't want to do just because you know it's probably right. It's like slitting your own wrist, it's counterintuitive.
Moving on is all good as long as there is some other place to go to. I hope there is.
