I finally finished my novel. Longtime readers of this blog will know that I've been working on this bad boy since November 2013 when I challenged myself to participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and I won, writing 50,000 words that month. Finishing the rest was hard with school and now with my new big and important full time job (#adult) but I did it. On August 10, 2015 at 1:39AM I wrote the end. 86,729 words, 265 pages, and all of my heart.
Thank you for reading my blog and my writing, for sticking around and letting me read your words too, and thank you for the endless support. All my love.
I think that's pretty much fuckin awesome. Not an easy thing to have done. It takes dedication. You get a high five from me.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Emma :) You owe yourself some celebration. You've accomplished something huge!
ReplyDeleteI know from experience how hard it is to complete something when time is precious and scarce, and something you started way back when drags out and away, that first page something far out in the distance like a buoy bobbing out at sea. I know the boredoms and frustrations, and the instances when you just want to start something new and fresh, dammit. And I know - oh I know - those lovely days when the writing comes like white fire, when afterwards you're left dazed and euphoric. I don't yet know how it feels to write "The End" - how glorious that must be. To tie the knot in the kite tail. To put the seal on the envelope. One day, one day soon. I love to read your beautiful writing here, so you certainly have a reader for the book xxx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm not much of a novelist, myself, but I have considered the possibility of publishing my individual pieces into a collection. But that kicks ass what you've done. My NaNoWriMo this year is going to be writing as MUCH as I can to have even more to submit for publication.
ReplyDeleteWhat Ryan said.
ReplyDeleteThat is huge!!! Congratulations Emma. And thank you so much, you just inspired me to start working on my book.
