two lovely thoughts today

Monday, December 9

"Anyone who doesn't write doesn't know how wonderful it is; I used to bemoan the fact that I couldn't draw at all, but now I am more happy that I can at least write. And if I haven't any talent for writing books or newspaper articles, well, then I can always write for myself."

"I can shake off everything if I write; my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn. But, and that is the great question, will I ever be able to write anything great, will I ever become a journalist or a writer? I hope so, oh, I hope so very much, for I can recapture everything when I write, my thoughts, my ideals, and my fantasies."

  1. thank you for sharing :) her story is so incredible. i was the same age as her when i first read her diary and i remember how overwhelmed i was by her wise words. i couldn't believe someone my age could be that smart already. she inspired me a lot.

  2. Anne frank's diary was the first book i ever read, i think i was like 8 years old and fell in love with her at first sight, or shoukd i say,.at the first sentence.. somehow, i always felt conected with her and her thoughts...i've kept a diary ever since, i have them all locked up in a closet back home, imagine all those words and drawings since i was 8 until now...that makes a total of 19... will they ever be published? Will they ever be worthy? Will i ever be remembered as anne frank or anais nin for their.diaries.,,, we'll see...
Thanks.for.the.comment on my blog, funny what the guy.told your friend though, that's what my guy told me, and that was it hahaha i fell for that and it was marvelous, tell her to do it only when in love...that is the best way to do it for the first.time, in love.

  3. i love these quotes!! i love to write, but am sometimes plagued with the thought of, 'nobody will like this,' or 'this will not be understood.' i needed that reminder that i can write for myself. and if anything, the exercise itself is therapeutic, and helps me recapture and sort through everything in my head.
